We Can Replace Your Entire Missing or Failing Teeth with All-on-4 Dental Implants

Can just four implants replace your entire teeth in the upper or lower arch of your mouth? Thanks to advanced implantology, that answer is a resounding YES! All-on-4 dental implants reduce the number of implants required to replace several missing teeth. You don’t need an implant for every tooth lost. With just four implants, Dr. Kevin Pulsipher in Mint Dental can replace an entire arch of teeth!

What are All-on-4 dental implants?

You may not imagine it, but you can lose all your teeth in an entire arch. Genetics, trauma, and disease are some factors that cause widespread tooth loss in your mouth. While you can replace missing teeth with dentures, this option can be uncomfortable and unstable, especially after a significant bone loss.

Full-arch dental implants are more stable and functional than conventional dentures. These restorations involve four dental implants inserted strategically in your mouth to anchor a set of artificial teeth.

What if I have bone loss? Unlike single dental implants, All-on-4 doesn’t require the same jawbone density to support an implant. Since the posterior implants of All-on-4 are tilted at an angle (45 degrees) towards the back of the mouth, you don’t need as much bone density.

The procedure of All-on-4 dental implants

The procedure starts with a consultation with Dr. Pulsipher. The objective is to ensure you have good oral health to avoid implant failure. After evaluation, our doctor surgically inserts four dental implants in your mouth — typically, two in the front and two in the rear. Implant surgery may sound scary, but you have nothing to worry about. It’s a quick, outpatient procedure carried out after numbing your mouth to ensure the treatment is painless.

After implant placement, your doctor inserts abutments on each implant. Abutments are connectors that attach your implant to your restoration. Then, we install a temporary denture above the abutments to ensure you use your smile as your implants heal.

Your implants need a few weeks to heal completely. However, you require 4-6 months for your implants and jawbone to integrate through osseointegration. Fusion prevents further jawbone loss and ensures your implants form a solid foundation to support your denture.

After healing, we restore your implants with a customized denture or bridge. That’s all it takes to replace your teeth with All-on-4 full arch implants. After treatment, you can now smile, eat, and laugh without worrying about your teeth.
